Christmas is coming!

It's been a busy week here in Switzerland!

Saturday night was "Kantifest" at my school and classes set up different themed bars in all of the classrooms on the first floor. There was a "Mexican Bar", a bar with live music, a Scottish bar - run by the English teachers, a 50's bar and so many more! My class was in charge of the KantiBall, so we transformed the cafeteria into a dance floor and hung stars, moons and disco balls from the ceiling. It was such a fun evening and the school was overflowing with people! It was definitely worth staying late at school Friday evening to set up!

On Sunday I travelled to Thun to meet up with some exchange students to go skating because we all miss it so much! It wasn't hard to pick out the Canadians in the group because we were all decked out in Olympic mittens and hats!

Thun is so pretty!

Where are you from?!

Monday and Tuesday were just regular days at school!

I am enrolled in an advanced German class with a few of the other exchange students! We have lessons every other Wednesday and Saturday for 3 hours at a time and by the end of it our heads are exploding! It is definitely difficult and a lot of work, but host parents said that they have noticed improvements in my grammar since I started - so that's comforting!

On Tuesday evening my host dad brought me home a traditional Christmas bread that is shaped like Santa Claus.

Wednesday before class, Caroline and I stopped at one of the bakeries in town to eat the famous "Solothurn Cake". We still aren't sure what's in it, but it is amazingggg.

Yesterday and today, I spent sometime in the city to do some Christmas shopping and I wrapped up my Christmas package to send home!

Tonight I am heading into Aarau to meet up with some friends and then tomorrow I am off to Matterhorn & Zermatt for a weekend with all of the exchange students!

Until later,
