Ooooppps!

There were a few things that happened in regards to Fasnacht that I forgot to include in my last post! Sorry!

Before the Fasnacht festivities begin, there is always a Morgenstraich (not as big as Basel...) or something to that degree to kick off the celebrations.

Every year in Solothurn there is the Chesslete which is when everyone dresses up in a white shirt with a red bandana around their neck and a white cap on their head, then everyone proceeds to walk through the downtown area of Solothurn with noise makers! It starts at 5:02am (everything to do with Fasnacht begins at the most awkward times...not 5, but 5:02!), so the idea is to wake everyone who is still sleeping up!

A few kids from my class and I went together to a big party the night before and stayed out until the Chesslete began the next morning! It was so much fun and such a cool experience!

Here are some photos from my adventure!

And then after the Chesslete was finished, we went to enjoy some more Mehlsuppe!

Mehlsuppe!
OHHHHH!

And there was still confetti in my bed days later...even months later I'm still finding confetti in my bed, in my purse, stuck to my clothes, you name it, I've found it!

EVERYWHERREE!

And that is a wrap on Switzerland's Fasnacht celebrations of 2012!
